Child Safety Standards
Last updated October 7, 2026
E-Motion Chat, made by ForwardOnly LLC, has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion, and any sexualization of minors. These standards apply to every part of the app: Motions, profiles, photos, voice messages, chats, circles, calls and meetups.
Adults only
- E-Motion Chat is for people 18 and older. Everyone must confirm they are 18+ and agree to our Terms of Use before using the app.
- Anyone who appears to be under 18 can be reported in the app with the reason "Seems under 18". Accounts of minors are removed.
What is prohibited
- Creating, sharing, requesting or linking to sexual or sexualized images, video, audio or text involving anyone under 18.
- Grooming, enticing or attempting to meet a minor, or any sexual or romantic contact with a minor.
- Sextortion or threats to share intimate images.
- Any content that sexualizes, exploits or endangers children.
How we prevent and act
- Reporting: anyone can report a profile, Motion, message, photo or voice message from inside the app (long-press a message, or use the shield). You can also block anyone at any time.
- Review: reports are reviewed by real people, and every report is reviewed within 24 hours. Accounts that receive several reports are suspended automatically while we review.
- Enforcement: content that violates these standards is removed and the account is permanently banned.
- Reporting to authorities: we report apparent child sexual abuse material and child exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and cooperate with law enforcement as required by law, including preserving relevant information.
- Design: people are anonymous by default, photos stay hidden until both people in a chat choose to reveal them, exact locations are never shown, and a word filter blocks objectionable content.
